A Japanese food company is currently recruiting a HR Assistant to work in their Park Royal office.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the HR team in both recruitment and general HR administration, ensuring smooth talent acquisition, handling employee relations, training coordination, and HR operational support.

The ideal candidate should have strong organisational, communication, and administrative skills, with proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.

TYPE: full-time

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours, Monday to Friday

SALARY: £26,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

HR Assistant Main Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Support

  • Partner with hiring managers to identify recruitment needs and target the right talent
  • Advertise job vacancies on multiple platforms (Job Today, MixB, Indeed, Facebook, Linkedin, Caterer, Gov website, etc.)
  • Conduct telephone screenings and schedule interviews and trial shifts
  • Organise recruitment events and job fairs
  • Handle right-to-work checks and onboarding for new employees
  • Manage internal promotions and transfers by arranging interviews and trial shifts
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies and external organisations for hiring support
  • Maintain and update the company's careers website and job descriptions
  • Arrange and take notes for promotion interviews

Onboarding & Training Management

  • Handle end-to-end onboarding (DocuSign, induction invites, HR account creation, document management, email setup)
  • Coordinate external training sessions such as First Aid, HACCP, and Food Safety Level 3
  • Maintain and update training records
  • Arrange Food Safety training, including invigilation and administration

HR Administration & Employee Relations

  • Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Support employee relation cases, including note-taking and drafting outcome letters
  • Distribute company-wide emails and letters
  • Support HR in organising company events and engagement activities

General HR & Office Administration

  • Process expense reimbursements for employees
  • Administer travel Oyster cards and manage travel arrangements for staff
  • Organise colleague meal arrangements as required

HR Assistant Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HR software
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in HR or recruitment administration is desirable
  • Business level fluency in English
