Junior Merchandiser | Premium Homewares and Furniture | Growing Business | People Focused | 12 Month Fixed Term ContractAre you an existing Junior Merchandiser or Demand Planner or a skilled assistant merchandiser looking to take on a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Merchandiser at a client of ours who are a leading and rapidly growing multichannel retailer. This is a pivotal role in driving demand, optimising sales, and maintaining target customer lead times while driving gross margin.Responsibilities:- Conduct category analysis on a weekly, monthly, and as needed basis and present in meetings.- Continuously trade categories to optimize sales and stocks, ensuring optimal availability while avoiding excess stock.- Update and maintain all department linecards, forecasting and planning orders, and approving with the Demand Planning Manager.- Collaborate with the Product Development team during the launch planning process, offering analysis to assist range planning, forecast sales, and plan orders.- Recommend phaseouts and approve reductions in price, attend key Managing Director meetings, conduct system and online checks, communicate with all departments, report and manage stocks during sales by suggesting further reductions.- Conduct brochure checks and web launch checks.- Maintain category range plans, ensuring data is current and accurate, updating monthly and at year-end, and preparing for new launches.Requirements:- Previous experience in a similar role or demand planning is essential, as it provides a solid foundation.- Proven track record in driving demand, optimising sales, and managing gross margin.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to forecast demand accurately and identify trends.- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and techniques.- Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.- Experience in managing both physical store and online channels is highly desirable.If you are a proactive and results-driven individual with a background in merchandising and a passion for premium homewares and furniture, we would love to hear from you.
