Pay, Reward & Industrial Relations Manager – Permanent – £52,242 per annum – Southeast London – Hybrid - Start ASAP

Reed Talent Solutions are supporting a reputable public sector client in the search for a Pay, Reward & Industrial Relations Manager on a permanent basis. This position offers the opportunity to lead the transformation of the pay, reward, and industrial relations functions within a highly scrutinised area of business. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and implementing pay reviews and developing a robust rewards strategy that aligns with legislative requirements and organisational goals.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong experience in the wider HR rewards and benefits environment, with a solid understanding of employment and equality legislation. They will be a motivational leader with great interpersonal skills, able to think strategically and take an innovative approach to problem solving.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, review, negotiations, and implementation of the pay review.
  • Manage annual and other pay negotiations and consultations, aiming to reach agreements while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and trade unions.
  • Develop and implement a rewards strategy, reviewing new and existing rewards and benefits to meet the changing needs of the workforce.
  • Own and update pay, rewards, and benefit-related policies, consulting with stakeholders and conducting impact assessments to minimise risks.
  • Continuously scan for new practices and legislative changes in pay, rewards, benefits, and industrial relations to keep the organisation competitive and compliant.
  • Communicate policy provisions and updates effectively, ensuring staff are well-informed through briefings and presentations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in HR rewards and benefits, with a solid understanding of employment and equality legislation.
  • Proven track record of leading successful negotiations with trade unions, especially in complex and politically sensitive environments.
  • Strategic thinker with innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to manage high-profile and scrutinised functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of motivating and leading teams.
  • Experience in designing and implementing pay matters and rewards strategies.
