Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Management:

    • Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.
    • Lead by example, inspiring staff to deliver high-quality care and education.
    • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Managers absence.
  2. Childcare and Education:

    • Ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and well-being for all children.
    • Develop and implement engaging learning opportunities that meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
    • Monitor and evaluate childrens progress, providing support and guidance to staff.
  3. Team Development:

    • Supervise, mentor, and support staff members to achieve their potential.
    • Assist in the recruitment, training, and performance management of nursery staff.
    • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  4. Parent and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their childs progress.
    • Handle any queries or concerns with professionalism and care.
  5. Compliance and Administration:

    • Ensure the nursery meets all regulatory and legislative requirements, including Ofsted standards.
    • Maintain accurate records, including staff schedules, childrens attendance, and development plans.
    • Assist in budget management and resource planning.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a childcare setting, with leadership responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
