TimePlan Education is supporting a well-regarded and inclusive primary SEND school in Hackney. The school is dedicated to providing outstanding education in a nurturing and engaging environment for children with special educational needs.

The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or unqualified SEND Teacher to join our school in January 2025. The successful candidate will work across two Key Stage 1 classes, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). You will collaborate with teachers to deliver high-quality education, lead lessons, and provide individual support to help pupils thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering tailored lessons for SEND pupils.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support, helping students overcome learning barriers.
  • Lead classes, interventions, and activities when required.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support classroom management and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff members.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, and training opportunities.

About You:

  • Qualifications: HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, especially at the primary and Early Years levels.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a true passion for supporting SEND students' growth and development.
