Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Lewisham
Job Type: Full-Time hours
Salary: Competitive, based on experience £85 - £100 per day
Job Duties:
- Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their educational and personal development
- Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons according to individual student needs
- Providing one-on-one support to students with SEND to help them access the curriculum
- Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to support student progress
- Working with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Challenging Behaviour, Complex needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or degree (desirable)
- Experience working with students with SEND
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of the education system and SEND regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed
Working Conditions:
- Work in a school setting, supporting students with SEND
- Full-time hours, following the school term calendar
- Collaborative work with teachers, parents, and external professionals
