Equifind has partnered with one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in the UK to assist in the recruitment of a Payroll Manager. This newly established position is based at the company's City of London office, with an expectation of in-office attendance three days per week.

You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. In addition, this role presents an exciting opportunity to broaden your remit by supporting the management of employee benefits, including the company’s stock option scheme - ideal for someone looking to grow their expertise and take on new challenges.

Key Duties:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for the UK business and a small number of Canadian and Italian employees.
  • Perform reconciliations and post payroll journals, with a sharp eye for identifying and correcting errors.
  • Support and liaise with internal teams and external providers to ensure smooth payroll operations across multiple time zones.
  • Work with the Finance Director and wider team on ad hoc analysis and finance projects initiated by the CFO and CEO.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records for audits, reporting, and compliance purposes.
  • Develop knowledge of, and eventually take ownership of, benefits administration, including the company’s stock option scheme.
  • Ensure clear understanding and application of debits and credits in relation to payroll accounting.

What We're Looking For:

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing payroll operations, either independently or as part of a small team.
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting, including reconciliations, journal postings, and error detection.
  • Comfortable working independently in a sole contributor payroll role.
  • A good foundational grasp of debits and credits.
  • Interest in or enthusiasm for learning employee benefits and equity administration.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident communicator with strong Excel skills and a proactive mindset.
