Standalone HR Business Partner / HR Manager (P/T - 4 days/wk) - Law Firm - London / Hybrid - up to £75k pro rata

We’re on the hunt for an experienced Generalist HR Business Partner / HR Manager to join an award-winning law firm in the City of London on a Part Time (4 days/week) basis as soon as possible.

This is a newly created, standalone generalist HR role that will establish the growing business’ HR function. We’re looking for someone with a solid understanding of UK HR laws, regulations, practices and procedures, competent communication skills and the ability to work Tuesdays and Thursdays in the London office.

Joining a forward-thinking and dynamic law firm, you will utilise your generalist experience as you will be the main point of contact for employee enquiries, oversee the full employee lifecycle, manage staff training and development and maintain the HR database.

Our client is offering a competitive salary up to £75k pro rata, depending on experience and benefits.This is position that has the potential to grow, therefore longer term career prospects are potentially available.

This is a part time role, 4 days per week. Hybrid working is offered but Tuesdays and Thursdays are the anchor days when you would need to be in the London office.

Key responsibilities as the Standalone HR Generalist Business Partner will include:

  • Main point of contact for employee enquiries regarding HR policies, procedures and benefits
  • Managing the full employee lifecycle
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures comply with UK law and regulations
  • Supporting the performance management processes
  • Working with SMT to identify training and development needs
  • Managing the onboarding processes for new employees
  • Identifying and coordinating training sessions and workshops to support employee development
  • Managing payroll administration
  • Maintaining HR databases and records

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable HR generalist experience, ideally within professional services environment
  • Experience in a standalone role is highly beneficial
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of UK employment law and regulations
  • Strong Employee Relations knowledge and experience
  • Hands-on experience with recruitment, onboarding, ER, performance management and training and development
  • CIPD qualified
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster relationships at all levels
  • Highly organised nature with excellent attention to detail
  • IT literate with solid MS Office skills
  • Proactive, professional and personable
  • Ability to work 4 days/ week with Tuesdays and Thursdays in London office
