Role - Business Analyst

Type - Fixed term contract (6 to 9 months) very likely extension

Salary - 65,000 - 70,000 + benefits

Location - Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office (Victoria)

PURPOSE OF POST:

  • To collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and define business requirements
  • To act as liaison between business stakeholders and the development team
  • To contribute to the design and the implementation of effective solutions
  • To work closely with the testing team to ensure successful UAT
  • To identify potential process and system improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED BY JOB HOLDER:

  • Preferable Business Analysis qualifications such as Bachelor's degree or industry recognised professional certifications (such as BCS or IIBA)
  • Minimum 4 years proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in core business analysis techniques and types of documentation such as business process modelling, data analysis and modelling, user experience modelling, business requirements documents, user stories and use case descriptions, data dictionaries.
  • Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently

MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:

Requirements Gathering:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, document and prioritise business requirements
  • Conduct interviews, workshops and surveys to gather relevant information
  • Analyse and document current business processes and workflows
  • Evaluate and interpret data to identify trends, patterns and insights
  • Create detailed documentation, including business requirements documents (BRD), data dictionaries, functional specifications and process maps
  • Ensure that documentation is clear, concise and aligned with business objectives

Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders

Solution Design:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to design and implement effective solutions
  • Provide input during the design and development phases to ensure solutions meet business requirements

Testing and Validation:

  • Work with testing teams to develop test plans and ensure that solutions meet specified requirements
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and address issues identified during testing
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvement and recommend solutions
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies
