Lead Service Desk Engineer (SC Clearance) London / WFH to £65k

Would you like to take ownership and build a Service Desk from scratch?

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on Lead Service Desk Engineer position at a scale-up technology company with a successful workforce management solution used within the government, defence and other public sector clients.

As the Lead Service Desk Engineer you will establish the Service Desk function for the business ensuring smooth and efficient handling of IT support requests, customer queries, product enquiries, bug reports and feature improvements. You'll be responsible for the ticketing system, currently they use Jira but you can choose and implement whichever system you see fit and will be responsible for customer communications and for creating and executing your own support runbooks. You will have sole responsibility for the Service Desk but will be supported by DevOps and Software Engineers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the London office once a week.

About you:

  • You have strong Service Desk / IT support experience with experience of building out a Service Desk
  • You have strong technical knowledge around troubleshooting, ticketing systems, customer support processes, operational excellence frameworks, IT security and the principles of distributed system design
  • You're proactive and able to manage multiple priorities, track support issues and drive resolutions effectively
  • Your collaborative and pragmatic, able to build strong working relationships both internally and with clients
  • You have experience of working for a start-up or scaling company
  • Please note: You must have SC Clearance (or ability to achieve it - i.e. you must be a British citizen with the past 5 years continually based in the UK) and be DBS checked due to the nature of the project / client
