Engineering Manager - Back office

Hybrid: x 3 per week onsite, Central London

Join a large global investment bank, currently going through a number of modernisation and transformation initiatives. As part of the Back Office team you'd be leading an engineering team, enabling change and transformation.

Responsibilities:

Leading a team across the Back Office function for the European Applications department of the bank - include Post Trade functions. You will own the assets of the entire Back Office Change function.

Being a pivotal part in a large migration and modernisation across the business over to AWS

Enablement of the team in delivering better - including review the current architecture, keeping oversight on delivery across the teams, one to ones with team leads, mentoring and developing the team

Smaller but still significant on going projects - taking control and delivering on these

Key skills:

  • Strong technical expertise in managing change across development teams, both project and BAU - key programming language here is Java
  • Deep understanding of the full SDLC
  • Financial services experience, ideally in an Investment Banking environment, ideally Back Office with Post Trade Bookings, settlements, credit risk, liquidity risk
  • Proven experience in transformation, modernisation and change
  • Well balanced leader passionate in building a high performing team, developing careers, dealing with stakeholders and prioritisation of business needs
