Our client is currently looking to hire a Payment Operations Analyst to join the wider operations function of an international bank. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking, particularly in payment operations and also experienced dealing with customers on key accounts since the role will play an important role in on-boarding clients and supporting them through their customer journey.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Process domestic & international cheques and manual payments, including follow-ups for payments held due to lack of funds.
  • Monitor overdrawn accounts and perform Nostro open item reconciliation.
  • Manage customer queries, including payment investigations, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Set up and maintain direct debits, standing orders, and payment-related products.
  • Conduct daily reporting and keep processes & procedures updated.
  • Be responsible for an allocated portfolio of clients to monitor service levels and identify opportunities to develop relationships.
  • Participate in ad hoc payment-related projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of prior banking experience in a payment operations.
  • Good knowledge of payment types (e.g., BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments, Swift payment messages, DDs, SEPA DDs).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers through various channels.
  • European language skills (Dutch, French) are advantageous.
  • Strong MS Office skills.

Please note this role is available on a 1 year fixed to contract to start.  The first 4-5 months in the role will also be full time office based to enable full training and support - Central London location.
