Underwriter (Commercial Combined)Lloyd's MGA City of London I'm currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's MGA who are looking for an Underwriter to join their growing team! 3+ years experience handling Commercial Combined business, either from a broking or underwriting background, is essential.

This role will be handling New Business within the London/SE Region and is a great opportunity for someone looking for a step up from Assistant Underwriter or for a broker looking to move into the Underwriting side.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and underwrite new business quotations across all product lines within the company's underwriting scope, ensuring queries are addressed and SLA standards are met.
  • Maintain strong broker relationships through regular communication with Business Development Managers.
  • Serve as a referral point for team members with lower-level underwriting authority.
  • Collaborate effectively within the team to ensure timely completion of tasks, adherence to SLA requirements, and the delivery of excellent customer service to brokers.
  • Respond to broker phone inquiries with professionalism and a friendly approach.
  • Operate within the parameters of your underwriting authority, referencing the Underwriting Guide as needed, and consult senior colleagues for support in complex situations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance work processes and contribute to achieving the organisation's broader goals.
  • Ensure all trading activities comply with regulatory standards, delivering customer outcomes that align with the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
