A boutique credit fund with circa 1bn in AUM is looking to appoint an Asset Management Associate into a newly created position in its team based in London.

This dynamic firm operates from offices in London, Europe, and the US, focusing on a variety of private credit strategies, including distressed debt and real estate investments.

The firm have enjoyed significant growth over the last twelve months and headcount has more than doubled.

Overview of the role includes:

Deal Management

  • Assist Deal Leads in overseeing and maintaining relationships with third parties, including loan servicers, facility agents, sponsors, and investment partners.
  • Review and assess lease approvals, loan modifications, and other borrower requests.
  • Monitor adherence to loan terms, covenants, and payment schedules.
  • Track compliance with key deadlines, milestones, and budgetary requirements.

Valuations

  • Update investment cash flow models quarterly and conduct performance scenario analyses as required.
  • Collaborate with Deal Leads and Servicers to create annual business plans.
  • Assist the Head of Asset Management with annual investment reviews.
  • Offer insights on market trends, economic indicators, and industry dynamics, evaluating their potential impact on deals and investments.

Deal-Level Reporting & Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of investment performance, including asset-level assessments for NPL portfolios.
  • Assist in preparing monthly performance updates, quarterly portfolio reviews, and responding to ad-hoc requests.
  • Track investment performance to identify potential credit risks.
  • Analyse monthly or quarterly financial statements and rent rolls, comparing them to underwriting expectations and budget projections.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Excellent academic background
  • Either has experience in an asset management/portfolio analyst role or is someone coming from an Advisory or TS background in a professional services firm with three to five years' worth of exposure to credit (NPL highly preferred) or real estate investments
  • Financial modelling skills are essential
