Our client is a fast-growing real estate private equity firm providing junior funding for property development and asset management opportunities.

They operate an FCA regulated investment platform which uses technology to break down traditional barriers to entry, enabling investors from around the world to invest in a range of institutional grade real estate opportunities within the UK, with potential for overseas investment within the next 12-18 months.

We are looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial applicant who wants to work in a fast-paced environment.

Position and Progression

Your focus will be on post deal-asset management as we grow our loan book. You will assist and lead with the management, monitoring and analysis of live development projects to ensure that risk is mitigated throughout, and we achieve our target return profiles.

The role will include liaising with external stakeholders/borrowers, assessing the progress of projects in accordance with key milestones, assessing financial performance compared to target expectations and monitoring risk.

Although you will mainly focus on the oversight of live development projects, you will be given direct exposure to the full investment cycle, from origination, due diligence, fund raising through to deal exit. The role involves monthly site visits to our live sites and therefore the applicant must be comfortable with regular travel nationally.

Roles/Responsibilities
  • Assist and lead the management/oversight of live development deals and investment assets
  • Regular qualitative and quantitative monitoring of live projects and investment assets including attendance at project design team meetings
  • Identify any critical issues/risks regarding asset performance
  • Monitoring of loan KPI's
  • Provide regular updates to management
  • Provide regular updates to the credit committee
  • Escalate risks when required
  • Establish, provide and engage with risk mitigation strategies
  • Monthly site visits for all assets under management
  • Quarterly reporting at a fund and loan level
  • Work with the wider team to streamline the asset management and oversight process as part of the overall growth strategy
  • Engage with large investors and JV partners to discuss project details
  • Build/modify financial appraisals
  • Undertake sensitivity and scenario analysis
  • Assist with due diligence for new investment opportunities

Skills, experience and education

  • Undergraduate degree with a minimum 2:1
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Previous experience in development loan book asset management and/or project/development oversight is essential
  • Previous experience in real estate lending, investment or advisory is favorable
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong excel and financial modelling skills
