A FTSE 250 Group based in central London are seeking to recruit a Group Pensions Manager for an initial period of 6-months. Hybrid working 2-3 days per week in the office and a daily rate of between £500-£650 (depending on experience) Inside IR35.Responsibilities of the Group Pensions ManagerSupport The Head of Pensions in the oversight and control of the Group’s pension schemes including 3 Major defined Benefit schemes and a large Group-wide define contribution master trust. Specific activities are likely to include:

  • oversee day-to-day pension management and review the administration of funds in conjunction with Trustees
  • develop pensions policies and pension and benefits packages
  • review, discuss and agree fund strategy and structure with the company board, investment managers and other advisers
  • ensure that schemes operate effectively and meet performance, quality and customer care targets, as well as complying with industry standards
  • calculate the performance and value of funds
  • keep up to date with current statutory regulations and monitor changes in the legal situation for pensions providers and developments in pension provision to ensure the optimum performance of the fund
  • deal with complex pension claims
  • develop communication strategies to promote the benefits of pension schemes
  • manage the relationship between the employer and trustees
  • meet with and encourage communication between actuaries, fund managers, solicitors and consultants
  • advise the company on new and emerging financial issues
Skills and Experience required for the Group Pensions Manager
  • Big 4 and/or PLC experience in a Pensions focused role
  • First-class communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience of Actuarial liabilities/ closures of pensions/bulk transfers of pension schemes
  • Can hit ground running and lead on a variety of complex pension matters
