New role for Quality Assurance (QA) Manager within the Change Delivery Team of London market Insurance brokers. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and effectiveness of business change initiatives. This role involves leading QA processes for projects aimed at transforming business operations, implementing new systems, and improving workflows. The QA Manager will work closely with the project team, stakeholders, and third-party vendors to maintain high standards in project execution, ensuring that deliverables meet business requirements, compliance standards, and customer needs.
You will
- Quality Assurance Strategy Development: Design and implement QA strategies, frameworks, and best practices tailored to business change projects in broking environments.
- Test Planning & Execution: Lead the creation of detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts, ensuring they are aligned with project requirements and objectives. Will be expected to execute test cases.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks/issues in existing system testing processes developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Team Leadership: Build, manage and mentor a team of QA analysts, providing guidance on testing methodologies, processes, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders including business analysts, project managers, developers, and external vendors to ensure testing activities align with business change objectives.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all business change initiatives adhere to company standards, and internal policies, particularly in relation to data protection, financial conduct, and insurance regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement processes, introducing automation in the future, advanced testing tools, and practices to drive operational efficiency and quality.
- Defect Tracking & Reporting: Oversee defect identification, prioritisation, and resolution, ensuring clear communication with the development and change management teams.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Coordinate UAT efforts by collaborating with business users to validate that changes meet their expectations and operational needs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Ensure comprehensive documentation of all QA activities, providing regular updates and quality reports to stakeholders and senior management.
You will need:
- Experience of working in Lloyds and London Insurance Market, in Broking and/or Underwriting and knowledge of working with Broking/Underwriting systems.
- Quality Assurance Expertise: Previous experience of testing large complex systems (font-end and back-end), working in both a quality assurance role and leadership capacity.
- Business Change Projects: Demonstrable experience of working on large-scale business change initiatives, system migrations, or workflow transformations.
- Good knowledge of setting-up and managing testing aspects within Azure DevOps.
- Testing Tools & Methodologies: Proficient in setting up and executing manual and automated testing, and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
- Leadership Skills: Experience leading QA teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyse testing issues, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable insights.
- Risk & Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with internal risk and compliance requirements.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, influence decision-making, and manage testing expectations.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically when faced with challenges during testing.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Relevant QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent).
- Project management or business change certifications (e.g., Prince2, PMP, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
