About UsOur client is a fast-growing fintech business aiming to revolutionise financial advice in the UK. Their mission is to place human advisers at the centre of every client relationship, while utilising technology to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.

The RoleOur client is seeking an experienced Head of Mortgages or Senior Mortgage Adviser with team leader qualities, to lead and manage their mortgage team. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of mortgage advice, regulatory requirements and exceptional leadership abilities.

You will oversee the end-to-end mortgage operations, including business development, processing and client servicing. Working closely with senior leaders, you will develop and execute strategies to improve operational efficiency, drive customer satisfaction and support the overall growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management: Lead and mentor the mortgage team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage all aspects of mortgage operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain high standards of service, ensuring a superior customer experience and addressing any concerns efficiently.
  • Performance Management: Set and track performance goals for the mortgage team, offering feedback and coaching to drive optimal results.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including planning, compliance, and technology, to ensure consistent client outcomes and business success.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification for giving mortgage advice in the UK (e.g. CeMAP / Certificate in Mortgage Advice)
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage products, regulatory requirements, and industry trends
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A results-driven mindset focused on delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Qualification to give protection advice (e.g. Certificate in Protection, R05 Protection Advice)
  • Experience in a scale-up business environment (0-100 employees)
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Experience in a FinTech company
