Job Title: Logistics Area Manager - Central
Location: Birmingham or London (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)
Contract: Subcontractor role (Inside IR35), 6 months initially, with potential extension
Reports to: Project Manager

Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Area Manager to take a risk-based approach to ensuring the successful implementation and assurance of logistics during the construction works. The role will maintain industry standards of health and safety while supporting key project delivery outcomes such as efficiency, quality, environmental impact, and compliance with Undertakings and Assurance obligations. The successful candidate will provide specialist logistical expertise at each stage of the construction process and ensure that the contractor's logistics strategy is fully implemented.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure assurance of logistics in support of construction works, focusing on safety, quality, and environmental impact.
  • Support the delivery of project outcomes, collaborating closely with the High Speed NEC3 Project Manager.
  • Hold the Contractor Logistic Lead accountable for the successful implementation of their logistics strategy.
  • Provide expert logistical support throughout the construction process.
  • Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards in line with industry regulations and project requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years in logistics management within the construction or infrastructure sectors, with particular knowledge of civil and rail construction methodology.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with UK construction regulations, including Construction Design Management (CDM) and Construction Safety Management (CSM) requirements.
  • Skills: Proficient in using proprietary software and IT resources; strong understanding of site-based health, safety, and environmental processes.
  • Qualifications: Evidence of relevant training or certifications in logistics, safety, and construction methodologies is required.
