Operations & Customer Service - Logistics & Freight Distribution

A leading company in palletised freight distribution is seeking a proactive and results-driven Operations & Customer Service to drive operational excellence and strengthen client relationships within a high-performance logistics network.

About the Role:

This position involves overseeing high-volume logistics operations, ensuring seamless coordination of over 200+ pallet deliveries daily, and optimising resource allocation. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and partner depots to maintain service excellence and compliance. Strong leadership, analytical abilities, and a client-focused approach will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Coordination: Manage daily pallet distribution within an award-winning network, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Client & Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including 125+ partner depots across the UK and Ireland.
  • Performance & Compliance: Monitor and report on key performance metrics such as on-time delivery rates and cost per delivery.
  • Quotation Management: Provide accurate and competitive pricing for UK, European, and international shipments to support business growth.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of customer service and sales representatives, providing guidance and mentorship.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics operations, client relationship management, or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage high-volume operations.

Preferred:

  • Excellent business acumen and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in KPI reporting, compliance management, and logistics software.
  • Familiarity with major pallet networks and UK/EU freight distribution.
