The role of Studio Operations and After-Sales Manager is a very important one at Eames Fine Art. We are looking for someone who is an experienced, well organised, self-led administrator with initiative and confidence. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is interested in the mechanics and logistics of how a commercial art gallery works. The role is suited to someone very organised and able to keep a calm level-headed approach to multi-tasking and dealing with several enquiries at once.
Eames Fine Art sells original works of art and this role is responsible for dealing with clients after they have made a purchase from us: liaising with them to organise framing and delivery of the artworks and sending on their paperwork to accompany them. You will also be the main point of contact with our framer, couriers, packing companies and artists.
The role provides a critical level of support to the directors and sales teams in the gallery, combining excellent administrative skills with confident ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, artists and other members of the team.
Clients who have bought artworks from us are the most important people we deal with, so it is essential that the person responsible for this job understands the need for a courteous manner, efficiency of process, patience, understanding and an excellent, friendly and professional approach.
We are looking for someone who is organised, resourceful, efficient and has experience working with valued clients, and can manage their own time and tight deadlines, whilst also being flexible to be able to help with other areas of the business to support the directors when necessary. Experience with art logistics would be very beneficial and you will also need to be confident handling artworks as you will be required to wrap and organise the storage of sold works. Knowledge of fine art framing and handling is desirable, but training will be provided.
You should feel happy talking with clients about their artworks and our exhibitions, so a level of interest in fine art is desirable. Education to a degree level is essential but we will consider applicants from a variety of academic backgrounds. The role also provides an opportunity to cultivate ongoing client relationships and sales opportunities so some experience or confidence to be able to discuss future purchases and developing collectors’ interest in new work is important.
Working as part of a small team also means there are many opportunities to get involved with planning exhibitions, running events and many different aspects of running an art gallery, and you will be working closely with everyone working in the galleries and studios on all aspects of the business.
The successful applicant will be based full-time at our London Collectors’ Studio in SE1, near London Bridge. The applicant will be required to work during evening client events occasionally and so an easy commute to SE1 is essential.
