Driver Hire London South West have an exciting new role for one of our clients based in Battersea

They are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor/Driver to join their team on a permanent basis. They are an international events company who offer a range of services to the creative & events industry.

Requirements:

You will be required to manage their transport operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and timely delivery of equipment for their client’s events. This role involves driving, coordinating logistics, maintaining vehicles, scheduling routes, and overseeing the transportation team to ensure smooth operations.

Annual salary amount - £30 - £34k Plus OT (dependant on experience)

Hours to be worked - 40 hrs per week - Core hours 08:00 - 17:00 (1 h lunch) however there will be early/late and occasional weekend work so you must be flexible to cover this

Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Safely transporting equipment to locations
    • Operating and maintaining their vehicle fleet
    • Follow all traffic laws and transportation protocols
    • Assist with loading and unloading of equipment
    • Plan and schedule daily deliveries and transport routes for drivers
    • Track vehicle locations and deliveries to ensure adherence to schedules
    • Collaborate with the production, logistics and warehouse teams to manage delivery expectations.
    • Regularly inspect vehicles for maintenance and safety checks and coordinate /schedule vehicle maintenance, repairs, and servicing.
    • Ensure all drivers adhere to safety standards, legal requirements, and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety training for drivers and provide updates on best practices.
    • Maintain records of driver hours, delivery schedules, and incident reports.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid UK driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Hold a valid C1 CPC or be willing to obtain.
  • Experience as a driver and in logistics/transportation coordination.
  • Knowledge of transportation laws, safety regulations, and fleet management practices.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, transport management systems).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays when necessary.
