Warehouse Dispatch Manager

We are now looking for a Warehouse Dispatch manager to join the business. (My client is a pioneer within the marketing and communications side of the print industry. A unique opportunity has arisen within the company as they are currently looking for a Warehouse Dispatch Manager to join their team. 

In this role, you will report directly to the Production Director and be responsible for managing the Warehouse, Dispatch, and Pick & Pack departments, ensuring that budget and commercial objectives are achieved.

You will work on the day shift, Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm, and some flexibility is required as overtime is regularly available.

The Role

  • To gain a full knowledge of the range of services provided in the Warehouse, Transport and Pick & Pack Department.
  • To be able to understand the company’s Management Information Systems
  • To be fully conversant with and to monitor all aspects of the department Health and Safety and the safety and maintenance of the department’s vehicles, including the record keeping of all repairs and servicing.
  • To develop and deliver a continuous training programme for the development of department staff and ensuring team and individual targets are met.
  • To investigate and recommend and install new and innovative technical solutions including AIDC, RFID, barcoding and handheld devices.
  • To ensure that all the correct procedures are followed for ISO quality checking and the appropriate paperwork is completed.
  • To help ensure that all the departments’ SLAs are met.
  • To perform the required daily machine and vehicle safety checks.
  • To raise and log all engineer calls.
  •  To complete time sheets and quality control documentation as required by the senior management team.
  • Undertake support tasks and projects as required by the senior management team.

The Person

  • Previous experience gained in a Warehouse Management role, ideally within a FMCG business
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to generate innovative and effective solutions to meet requirements
  • Able to multitask
  • Ability to analyse relevant information to make quality decisions
  • Must be methodical with excellent attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Resilient
  • Able to maintain good disciplines and standards, initiative, and drive
  • Understanding of commercial issues surrounding jobs

Salary & Benefits

This roles offers a generous base salary of up to £45,000 and is dependent on experience plus, benefits including generous holiday allowance, regular overtime, ongoing training and support and company pension.
