Customer Research and Insights Lead
Location: London/Southampton (Regular travel between both locations once a week)
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000
About the Team: Join the Customer & Market Intelligence Team, within the Ad Hoc Research & Insights sub-team. This role is based within a complex business environment with multiple teams working on various product categories, including home improvement and DIY products. The team's focus is on developing and selling own-brand ranges, which make up a significant portion of the business.
The Role: As an Insight Lead, you will have a global role with responsibility for conducting research in multiple markets. You will provide insights that directly impact product development, innovation, and customer understanding across a range of products. This includes research on the purchase journey, product development testing, brand and usage surveys, and more. Your insights will support two key customer groups: trade customers and home improvers.
You will manage relationships with external research agencies, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery. The research will consist of a mix of 60% qualitative and 40% quantitative methods, including ethnographic fieldwork. The role is an individual contributor position within a flat team structure, reporting to the Insights Lead, and collaborating with other Leads on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct and manage research on own-brand products across multiple categories.

Transform undefined briefs into impactful insights that drive innovation and business decisions.

Oversee external research agencies, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.

Understand customer pain points, needs, and opportunities in both trade and home improver segments.

Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
Candidate Requirements:

10+ years of experience in ad-hoc Quant & Qual research.

Fluent in French, with an understanding of French culture and homes.

Ideally, a background in client-side roles or retail (agency background is also acceptable).

Strong experience in managing ambiguity, navigating complex situations, and dealing with diverse stakeholders.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

International mindset with the ability to operate across multiple markets.
