Our client is a renewable energy developer, managing projects from inception to long-term operation. They identify opportunities, secure grid connections and land agreements, and navigate planning approvals before delivering projects in-house.Initially focused on the UK, where they have a 6GW pipeline in solar, wind, and battery storage, they have since expanded into Sweden and Finland to develop projects across the Nordic region.Due to managed growth, we are seeking a DCO Manager to join their NSIP team in the UK (with flexibility on exact location) and to take the lead role on projects and the delivery of high quality renewable energy projects (predominantly solar and storage) through the DCO process.About the Opportunity
  • Lead and support a multi-disciplinary team in securing Development Consent Order (DCO) approvals for large-scale solar and battery projects.
  • Act as the client point of contact for the project team, providing strategic guidance and oversight.
  • Manage consent strategy, document sign-off, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee contract administration, reporting, and resolution of ad-hoc project issues.
  • Monitor technical compliance with consent commitments and ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Manage the discharge of conditions and handover to the asset management team.
  • Work autonomously, proposing innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Be part of a highly experienced NSIP team, driving innovative projects toward Net Zero.
About You
  • Project Management / Environment / Planning Qualification (ideally degree level as a minimum).
  • Demonstrable experience within the energy industry on consent projects, particularly working on solar PV, battery storage or grid connection projects (experience in other NSIP sectors with suitable transferrable skills will also be considered).
  • Experience of leading the delivery of projects at various stages in the project lifecycle.
  • Experience of managing project stakeholders including regulators, statutory consultees and local communities.
  • Experience in the use of technical software is desirable (such as AutoCAD, GIS, PVSyst)
  • An ability to anticipated project issues and propose creative solutions.
  • An ability to manage several project tasks at once and be able to plan and prioritise project workload.
  • An ability to manage and communicate effectively with large multi-disciplinary teams.
