Engineering Manager - Team LeadLocation: London (Preferred) or Bristol (Hybrid with frequent UK and EU travel)
Reports To: Head of Engineering
Role Purpose:
This is a great role at a rapidly growing and ambitious Renewable Energy provider who have a great number of projects ready to go. Their existing capacity is 800MW and they have 9 projects starting over the next 2 to 3 years each with 50MW capacity.
Your role will be to ensure the quality of the project is in line with the EPC contract - that standards, materials etc are of the quality required. The team is the in-house centre of excellence for all engineering standards and is very high profile with tremendous job prospects.
The Engineering Manager - Team Lead will oversee the Technical Due Diligence and Owner’s Engineering services. Working closely with the Head of Engineering, the role will focus on maximising both team and asset performance while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, risk management, health and safety standards, and value-added activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Pipeline Management: Lead and manage project timelines, expectations, and coordination of team member projects. Provide regular updates to the Head of Engineering.

Feedback & Coordination: Maintain regular feedback and communication with the Head of Engineering and other team leaders to align strategies and reporting processes.

Project Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee the monitoring of solar projects during construction, including design review, commissioning processes, report preparation, and supporting business development efforts.

Team Leadership: Manage a team of direct reports, ensuring their wellbeing, supporting their individual projects, and promoting engagement in company training and activities.

Engineering Service Offering: Define project scope and pricing, ensure services add value, and promote offerings within the wider investment team.

Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance team for monthly meetings, reviewing accruals, expenses, invoicing status, and provide quarterly financial summaries to the Head of Engineering.

Data Security & Compliance: Ensure data security and confidentiality by adhering to data policies and relevant legislation, particularly regarding GDPR.

Health & Safety: Comply with all relevant health and safety requirements, and ensure the team follows applicable policies and risk assessments.

Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested by senior management, including partners or directors.
Required Qualifications & Experience:

Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the solar industry, with a preference for backgrounds in EPC contracting, technical advisory, or engineering design contracting.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in electrical engineering drawings, electrical calculations, short-circuit analysis, switchgears, and technical report writing.

Desirable Skills: Contract management experience, contractor scope definition, profit and loss management, and advanced MS Excel skills.
