A leading UK-based company is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their engineering team focused on the filtration business. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager New Unit Filters, you will be responsible for a variety of post-order engineering activities, including but not limited to the creation of engineering drawings (General Arrangements, fabrications), performing design calculations, and SAP entries.

Description

  • Execute engineering tasks in alignment with order date requirements.
  • Maintain hours against estimates and manage project time lines.
  • Create and modify drawings using the Computer-Aided Design (CAD) system.
  • Perform pressure vessel strength calculations as necessary.
  • Check engineering drawings and calculations.
  • Create parts and input Bills of Materials (BOM) into SAP in line with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with external and company-based engineering standards, as well as any customer-specific requirements.
  • Support product continuity and resolve engineering issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records and product documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to take measurements of filters for replacement.
  • Support the commercial team by producing sales sketches as required.
  • Collaborate with customers and fabricators to resolve any issues and ensure smooth project progress.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager by allocating tasks to other engineers, and monitoring their progress to meet deadlines.

Profile

  • Required:
    • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in pressure vessel design.
    • At least 10 years of experience in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD and Inventor).
    • Experience with pressure vessel codes (ASME VIII Div1 & 2, PD5500, ASME B31.3, PED, and PE(S)R).
    • Experience with structural engineering calculations, particularly pressure vessels.
    • Proficiency in MS Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with pressure vessel design calculation software (PV Elite/Code Calc).
    • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS Mechanical).
    • Experience with Autodesk Vault for drawing configuration management.
    • Familiarity with SAP and its applications in engineering.
    • Previous team management experience.

Job Offer

  • Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (negotiable based on experience).
