Medical Science Liaison

SRG are working with a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry who are looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for a 6 month contract. This role focuses within Dermatology and is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have experience in a field-facing role within Medical Affairs.


Main Responsibilities include:

  • Interact on behalf of the Medical Affairs team with KOLs/thought leaders across the UK concerning their needs for scientific knowledge in chosen therapeutic area
  • Provide quality scientific exchange or education programmes on scientific matters to physicians and other relevant HCPs
  • Assisting the Med Managers, Medical Advisors with business/clinical strategy and tactical plan development
  • Maintaining business & medical knowledge of chosen therapeutic area, including current treatment strategies, current and pending competitors, plus new therapeutic developments
  • Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians, individually or in groups (meetings, clinical sessions, etc.), where requested
  • Understanding and influencing a wide range of stakeholders; proactively collaborate and network with internal partners regionally and share insights and best practices across the team.
  • Consistently demonstrate understanding and adherence to company policies, procedures and ABPI Code of Practice through appropriate communications and interactions with internal colleagues and external customers


Skills/experience required:

  • Degree in Medicine or Pharmacy or PhD (Advanced degree strongly preferred or equivalent by experience)
  • Prior experience in a field-facing role, particularly as an MSL, is strongly preferred
  • Prior knowledge and experience within Dermatology would be advantageous
  • Developing and managing KOLs including KOL identification, engagement and support.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and operate well cross-functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing Medical Affairs incl. ABPI and other related Codes of Practice
  • Possess a keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned Disease area/product(s) and in medical research in general
