A global law firm based in the City of London have a newly created role for a Learning and Talent Partner. The Learning & Talent Partner role serves as a strategic partner in designing and delivering effective learning and talent solutions while supporting strategic L&TD priorities and ensuring operational excellence. This role will also manage a number of talent programmes as well as develop new ones.

As this is a new role additional responsibilities may also evolve over time, requiring a highly collaborative individual with a strong track record in driving change in L&D and supporting an ambitious people agenda.

Reporting into the Senior Talent Development Manager, the role will apply thought leadership, project management and strong facilitation skills to successfully design and deliver talent programmes and business change initiatives across learning, leadership and talent.

Deep expertise of managing, designing and delivering across all phases of the learning cycle is essential, including ROI and learning metrics. Adopting a trusted advisor approach, the role will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and stakeholders to identify and address specific learning and talent development needs across the firm. The role will focus on equipping stakeholder groups with essential professional development and behavioural skills, enabling them to deliver exceptional client services

Responsibilities:

  • Project-manage key strategic priority projects focused on the development and progression of the firm's top talent, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategy and values.
  • Works closely with peers, HRBPs and stakeholders to design and deliver/implement (including partnering with external experts) scalable global learning and talent solutions that can be effectively rolled out across different regions.
  • Facilitate diverse learning interventions and design tailored team development sessions - supporting ad hoc requests by creating and delivering targeted learning experiences and team development initiatives.
  • Works closely with Senior Talent Development Manager, HRBPs and stakeholders to review effectiveness of existing talent programmes and identifying any gaps in the key career milestones of the firm's talent portfolio and implementing effective solutions.
  • Builds talent capability by developing and organising complex learning needs analysis, designing learning outcomes and proposing business cases for a wide variety of learning and talent development initiatives.
  • Drawing insights from metrics to assess and enhance learning and talent initiatives and to make commercial decisions about future investments, ensuring programmes deliver commercial value and support our commitment to diversity and fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Oversees design and co-develops learning and talent processes that are globally aligned and fit for purpose.
  • Engage in various talent development initiatives including the review and enhancement of the firm's external coaching offering and internal coaching capability.
  • Serves as a mentor (and may take on people management responsibilities) to help develop junior L&D team members.
  • Supports the global team with budget management and makes recommendations that are commercially smart and inclusive of diversity across the regions.

Requirements:

  • Experienced talent development professional (experience in Manager/ Business Partner level) with experience of working in professional services.
  • Experience of facilitating and designing leadership programmes using the most up to date learning methodologies and technologies, tailoring to specific audiences.
  • Proven track record in partnering with external suppliers to source high quality learning solutions and managing these relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing and allocating budges for learning and talent development initiatives.
  • Prior experience of working with regional and global teams in complex environments undergoing significant transformation and modernisation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner, advise and influence at all levels of the business.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive approach with a supportive, commercial outlook, client delivery focussed work ethic.
  • Highly organised and a good planner with an ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience and skills within leadership development is also desirable.
