Compliance Officer - Southwark, London

Position: Compliance Officer

Salary: £32,000

Location: Southwark, London - hybrid 1-2 days in the office

Hours: 9-5

Our client, a leading Insurance Company is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Compliance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to ensure that our client complies with regulatory and legal requirements while maintaining high standards of internal policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Act as the primary contact and liaison between department heads and senior management on all compliance and complaints-related issues
  • Perform regular assessments and audits to ensure policies align with legal requirements
  • Complete SARS requests
  • Collaborate with the manager to review the Operational Risk register
  • Work alongside the administration teams to ensure compliance in all areas
  • Assist in conducting QA checks on customer correspondences
  • Support the compliance team in implementing policies and procedures
  • Aid in the gathering of information in response to requests by regulatory organisations

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent influencing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in presenting reports to various stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Experience in risk assessment and management.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Significant experience in the insurance sector.
  • Working knowledge of FCA and FOS rules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Previous experience in a compliance officer role or similar.
