Freelance Social Account Director

About the Role

My Client is looking for a Social Account Director to join their team on a freelance basis. This role will play a key part in managing brand-level social strategy, overseeing public-facing content, and collaborating with creative and media buying teams.

The role requires a blend of creative and strategic expertise, with a focus on social content execution and flow management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead social strategy at the brand level, ensuring consistency across platforms.
  • Manage and oversee social content but not paid media buying (must understand the process and collaborate with media teams).
  • Work cross-functionally with Creative Teams, Account Directors, and the Business Director.
  • Manage Account Managers and support work across the wider team.
  • Report into the Chief Strategy Director, Chief Creative Director and Head of Account Management, with an additional reporting line to the Business Director.
  • Ensure smooth workflow within a siloed social media structure, managing the balance between content, creative, and planning teams.
  • Liaise with leadership, including Social Directors and the Head of Account Management.

Requirements

? Proven experience in social strategy & creative leadership (not just execution).? Ability to collaborate with paid media teams, understanding media buying but not directly managing it.? Experience working on global brand accounts and managing public-facing content.? Ability to operate within a structured, siloed social team.? Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-team environment.? Strong leadership skills, able to manage AMs and coordinate cross-functional teams.? Hybrid working model - minimum 3 days in office required.
