About Our Client:

We are currently working with an organisation in the public sector that requires a Network Management Streetworks Coordinator. As an organisation, they are responsible for managing and coordinating streetworks activities within the borough of Wandsworth.

Responsibilities:

As the Network Management Streetworks Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the application of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and the Richmond and Wandsworth permit schemes within the borough of [Location]
  • Assessing and inspecting streetworks to ensure compliance with the Council's Network Management Duty
  • Coordinating planned network activities around utility projects
  • Managing the interface between utility works and other projects, considering the wider implications on the network
  • Evaluating permit applications for accuracy and potential breaches of legislation, and taking appropriate action
  • Monitoring permit applications, major projects, and programmes to identify works clashes and collaboration opportunities
  • Coordinating and negotiating with works promoters on works arrangements, including timing, duration, location, and traffic management
  • Keeping up-to-date with technical developments and changes in legislation
  • Coordinating all highways activities alongside activities notified via the permit schemes
  • Inspecting active works sites for compliance with regulations and reinstatements for compliance with standards
  • Representing the organisation at relevant meetings and liaising with stakeholders to coordinate highways activities
  • Advising on appropriate traffic management requirements and engaging with stakeholders to resolve inquiries and issues
  • Promoting awareness and understanding of development-related issues likely to impact the area
  • Reviewing applications for Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders and developing mitigation and monitoring strategies

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience delivering high levels of customer service
  • Experience in developing partnering arrangements internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills
  • Experience managing the implementation of road works and street works
  • Excellent understanding of relevant legislation, the political context, and the public sector environment
  • Good negotiation, consultation, and communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions based on complex information obtained from various sources
  • Ability to organise workload and meet conflicting targets and deadlines
  • Ability to successfully deal with conflict
