Insight is working with a global FM Service Provider to source a key hire in their sustainability projects division. We are recruiting now for a Senior Programme Manager to lead a team of Project Managers delivering the company’s drive towards Net-Zero Carbon.

In the role of Senior Programme Manager (Sustainability), you will focus on the delivery of the Net-Zero (Carbon) Programme, aligning national and global efforts to achieve key environmental sustainability targets. This role involves establishing a robust ESG reporting program to fulfil both regulatory and voluntary sustainability commitments, ensuring transparent and actionable reporting practices.

As the lead for the Global Carbon Accounting Program, the Senior Programme Manager will oversee the establishment of carbon accounting methodologies and software, helping to shape a unified approach to tracking and reducing carbon impact across the organisation.

In collaboration with service line, corporate, and operational stakeholders, this role will also be responsible for developing decarbonization strategies tailored to individual accounts, driving data-driven sustainability practices across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sustainability projects, managing timeline, budget, and quality, including UK&I Estates and Carbon Data projects
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain & Procurement to drive de-carbonisation across the supply chain
  • Engage with Account Directors and Sustainability Business Partners to enhance contract knowledge on decarbonisation, supporting toolkit development
  • Oversee the Sustainability PMO, including tracking risks, issues, dependencies, and benefits
  • Develop and standardise processes for managing multiple sustainability projects
  • Identify and implement best practices in sustainability, fostering knowledge sharing and innovation
  • Identify, assess, and escalate critical sustainability risks and benefits to leadership

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in program and change management, especially in sustainability initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of environmental compliance, laws, and frameworks (e.g., TCFD, CSRD, SBTi)
  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders across a global, matrix organisation
  • Strong communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders, from executive to operational levels
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability challenges and compliance in corporate and facilities management sectors
  • Systems thinking to understand interconnected impacts on sustainability
  • Adaptability to evolving sustainability regulations and industry trends
