Market-leading FMCG manufacturing business require an Indirect Buyer. Applicants need indirect or services based procurement experience, be competent running tender and sourcing activities, and strong stakeholder managers.
The Indirect Buyer will join a busy and growing indirect procurement team. The organisation are a young and forward-thinking business with market-leading products. Indirect procurement as a dedicated function is a relatively new entity within the business, so there is lots of scope to make a difference, drive change and get some "quick wins". The Indirect Buyer will join a small indirect procurement team of 3. The nature of the work is ad-hoc at present but in the future a more category-centric approach will be adopted.
Specific duties of the Indirect Buyer include:
- Managing tender processes from cradle-to-grave across a broad range of indirect spend areas; IT, FM, Marketing, Professional Services, HR, Fleet etc.
- Supply market intelligence activities in the area of indirect spend
- Analysis of current spend and procurement department data to look for opportunities and drive strategies
- Stakeholder partnering to understand scope of requirements and relevant supplier landscapes
- Monitor and manage supplier performance against agreed contracts, KPIs and SLAs
- Support procurement leadership in strategic work around category management and procurement processes
Indirect Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Indirect or services procurement experience; IT, FM, Marketing, Professional Services, HR, Fleet etc.
- Previous experience of running tenders or sourcing exercises
- Some strategic ability - negotiations, drive improved supplier performance, collaboration etc
- Excellent people skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced procurement environment
