Are you a Groups Business Development Manager Manager looking for a new challenge? In this role you will understand the client needs and produce suitable and competitive quotes with a proactive approach to win groups, engage with clients, always retaining a close eye to the margins. To build relationships and maintain a great working relationships with your clients, suppliers, and fellow team members. Being pro-active and able to recognize potential key wins and to offer the most suitable products and prices for the specific potential client.

The Job:

  • To acknowledge and qualify all new requests (via email and phone)
  • To identify the most suitable products for the client in order to create the most effective and competitive offer.
  • To make sure that all offers are sent out in the company standard format and are all entered correctly into the operational System.
  • To ensure that your offer reflects what the client wants without compromising on quality of services and price of the offer.
  • To ensure that all offers are correctly followed up, following the instructions received during the training: first immediately and then within one week after sending the offer, and as per option expiry date given.
  • To regularly update the groups in the management system from the quotation side, with all the correct information and services confirmed inserted for the operations team to process, in order to have a correct overview for yourself, operations and management.
  • To proactively work on all potential target clients in the markets, specialising in groups, touring groups, University groups, niche special interest groups (thematic of different specifications, such as religious, horticultural, history, art, sport especially in the USA), both ad hoc and series
  • To maintain good relationships with all clients and ensure quotes are prepared accurately and promptly.
  • To keep abreast of who our competitors are, who they work with (both clients and suppliers) and what they are offering.
  • To deal with complaints and emergencies in a professional manner.
  • To organize and participate in any familiarization trips organised.
  • To hold periodically an emergency phone during the week, accordingly to the department rota

Skills Required:

  • Language skills: Fluency in English is essential along with Spanish/Portuguese
  • Experience: a minimum of two years of experience in a UK and Ireland inbound operator in a group role handling one of the key markets of reference visiting our destinations. Proven experience of preparing quotes and operating groups.
  • Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of the UK as a destination. Excellent knowledge of rates and current market prices.
  • Communication: the ability to be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, a confident relationship manager who builds and strengthens connections with clients.
  • Energy: you enjoy the buzzing energy of the travel industry, and you are willing to invest time and effort to achieve your goals. You want to grow professionally and succeed in your job within the travel trade.
  • Flexibility: to be able to adapt to every changing situation and being open to new ideas.
  • Problem solving you are able to identify and analyse an/a existing/potential problem and find suitable solutions for each situation.
  • Teamwork: you are a team worker but are also able to work individually.
  • Trust: you know your strengths as well as your opportunities to improve
  • Organizational skills: great attention to detail and speed working under pressure. Ability to work in compliance with deadlines and prioritizing key concrete opportunities first.
