Milk Education are recruiting a full-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a wonderful primary school in Haringey, North London. The successful candidate will be working closely with the class teacher to support pupils across a variety of subjects. Working hours are 8:30-16:00 Monday - Friday.

Qualifications are desirable, but experience working with children in an educational setting is essential.

HLTA role & responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support to teachers and pupils, ensuring effective learning across the curriculum
  • Lead small groups or 1:1 interventions to support students’ learning and development
  • Assist in preparing and delivering lessons, under the direction of the class teacher
  • Contribute to planning, assessing, and recording students’ progress
  • Ensure pupils’ needs are met, offering tailored support to help them succeed
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning

Non-negotiables:

  • Experience of working with children aged 4-11 in an educational setting (within the last 2 years)
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and key teaching strategies
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting pupils' learning
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
