Male Teaching Assistant | Secondary SEN |South East London

We are looking for an experienced Male Teaching Assistant TA who inspires to work with in an SEN environment. As a Male Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students in a classroom at one of leading schools in London. the reason for why we need a Male Teaching Assistant; the student is a year 8 boy who sometimes moderate to severe behaviour issues e.g…'Lashing out'. This TA role does require someone who is enthusiastic about being a part of an integral team.

Role: Male Teaching Assistant

Start: March 2025

Location: SE7, South East London

Contract: SE18, Full time

Rate: £95-110 per day

Setting: Secondary SEN

Ideal Candidate:

  • Supervising and supporting pupils
  • Assisting in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies
  • Supporting with behaviour management
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals
  • Assisting with the supervision of children out of lesson times, such as playtime and lunchtime duty
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children, supporting difference and ensuring that all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
  • Some basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Bachelor's degree (Education Studies, Psychology or Sports Degrees are welcome)
