Established in the late 1800's, the firm has grown to become a globally recognised name with offices across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, allowing them to work with clients from every corner of the world.The Employment Team:The team work on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for clients across the private and public sectors, with a focus on the financial services, healthcare, and technology industries. This large and highly respected department have specialist teams in the areas of discrimination and diversity, trade union relations, TUPE and transactional support, business immigration, equal pay, and pensions.The Role:This opportunity will be within a specialist team that focus on industrial relations matters, who have an incredibly interesting caseload. They are passionate about helping household name clients manage strikes, achieve change through collective bargaining, draft collective agreements, handle complex redundancies and TUPE claims, as well as give advice to prevent disputes if they happen.Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on complex industrial relations matters, including collective bargaining, trade union recognition, and disputes.
  • Provide strategic guidance on workforce change programs, redundancies, and organisational restructuring.
  • Represent clients in disputes involving trade unions and other employee representative bodies, including at tribunal and court level.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on employment law and industrial relations strategies.
  • Lead on business development initiatives to expand the firm's client base in industrial relations.
  • Mentor and supervise junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with substantial post-qualification experience in employment law, preferably already working at the Senior Associate or Legal Director level.
  • Proven expertise in industrial relations, including advising on trade union negotiations, collective disputes, and TUPE matters.
  • Strong client management skills with the ability to provide commercially astute advice.
  • Demonstrated track record in business development and client acquisition.
