Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Leaving Care/Personal Advisor for a Local Authority Client based in East London.

In this role, you will provide essential support and guidance to young people transitioning from care to independence.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Manage a caseload of young people, developing and reviewing Pathway Plans to support their journey to independence.
  • Conduct timely Pathway Assessments in collaboration with young people, carers, and social workers.
  • Participate in office duty arrangements and provide emergency cover as needed.
  • Offer guidance on accommodation, education, training, and employment, and facilitate access to necessary services.
  • Engage with external agencies to ensure holistic support for young people, promoting their involvement in service design.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience working directly with children in care and care leavers, both individually and in group settings.
  • Experience of undertaking high-quality and analytical Pathway Assessments, Human Rights Assessments, and Personal Educational Plans for looked-after children and young people.
  • Experience working with young people who have faced social exclusion within a multicultural, inner-city environment.
  • Experience in supporting young people through their transition to independence.

What's on offer:

Salary: £19+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
