About the Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and strategic leader to take on the role of Head of Housing within a forward-thinking local authority. This is a pivotal role, where you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the council’s housing strategy, ensuring high-quality housing services, and making a real impact on communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of the council’s housing strategy, ensuring it aligns with local and national housing policies.

• Oversee the management of housing services, including homelessness prevention, social housing, and private sector engagement.

• Drive improvements in housing standards, resident satisfaction, and service delivery.

• Work closely with key stakeholders, including government agencies, housing associations, developers, and community organisations.

• Ensure effective financial management, making the best use of resources to deliver sustainable housing solutions.

• Develop and implement policies to support affordable housing, homelessness reduction, and tenant engagement.

• Lead and inspire a dedicated team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

About You:We are looking for an experienced and inspirational leader with a strong background in housing services. You will have a deep understanding of housing policy, regulation, and best practice, as well as a proven track record in service improvement and strategic planning.

Essential Requirements:

• Extensive experience in housing management, policy development, and service delivery within a local authority or housing association.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

• Excellent knowledge of housing legislation, regulations, and best practice.

• Proven experience in budget and financial management within housing services.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
