As a SEND Lecturer, you will play a key role in providing a tailored learning experience that empowers students to succeed and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design, prepare, and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to the diverse needs of SEND students, ensuring that each individual's learning requirements are met effectively.
- Assessment & Feedback: Develop and implement a variety of assessments to evaluate student progress, offering constructive feedback that aids their development and achievement.
- Individual Support: Provide personalized support to students, implementing adjustments and additional interventions to ensure all learners can access the curriculum and thrive.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the team to adapt and improve the SEND curriculum, ensuring it is accessible, flexible, and relevant to students' needs.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, participation, and academic success.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and track student progress, identifying areas for intervention and providing timely support to ensure students achieve their academic goals.
- A relevant teaching qualification (Level 5 or equivalent).
- Experience working with SEND students in an educational environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of SEND provisions, strategies, and practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A genuine commitment to helping students with SEND succeed academically and personally.
- Experience in using assistive technologies and tailored learning resources to support SEND students.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to support vulnerable learners effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A student-centred approach, with a passion for creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment.
- Experience of differentiation techniques to cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
