As a SEND Lecturer, you will deliver tailored lessons, support individual learning needs, and ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the specific needs of SEND students, ensuring content is accessible, relevant, and motivating.
- Assessment & Feedback: Create and administer assessments to monitor student progress, offering constructive feedback that supports their academic growth and development.
- Student Support: Provide personalised support to SEND students, addressing their learning challenges, providing guidance, and promoting their academic success.
- Curriculum Development: Adapt and modify the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of SEND students, ensuring lessons are inclusive and accessible for all learners.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teaching staff, support teams, and external agencies to create a holistic support system for SEND students.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess the progress of SEND students, implementing interventions where necessary to ensure their academic and personal development.
- A degree or relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Education, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Proven experience working with SEND students in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, strategies, and support mechanisms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students with varying needs.
- A commitment to delivering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Experience working with students who have a range of SEND, including autism, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and resources used to support SEND students in the classroom.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple cases and student needs.
- A proactive, student-centred approach with a focus on fostering independence and self-confidence in SEND learners.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support SEND students.
