SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our SEN provision within the Brent borough. This role involves working Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, supporting students with special educational needs across the spectrum. This position is ideal for individuals who have experience working with secondary or 6th form/college-aged students and are committed to enhancing educational experiences for all students. To start as soon as possible.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with teachers and other educational staff to facilitate inclusive education.
  • Monitor and support the progress of students, adapting approaches as needed to suit individual needs.
  • Facilitate social and academic integration, helping students to build confidence and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and any issues that arise.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold Maths and English GCSEs.
  • Proven experience working with secondary or 6th form/college-aged students.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
