My consultancy client is looking for a skilled CAD Technician to join their team and contribute to a wide range of projects in the property and construction industry (especially sustainability projects such as energy saving programmes, EV car charging locations, hydrogen production facilities etc). This role offers excellent career development opportunities, exposure to innovative projects, and the chance to work with a supportive and experienced team.

My client is also keen to provide training, mentoring and support for the right person to become Chartered.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce designs ranging from feasibility sketches to detailed construction drawings.
  • Manage multiple projects at various design stages.
  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and construction teams to ensure designs meet requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail while managing multiple demands.
  • Focus on sustainable and low-carbon technologies in design projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and health and safety standards.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in CAD design and drafting.
  • Previous construction related experience is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge of design and engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Associate degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in civil engineering or commercial construction is beneficial. Previous petrol/roadside retail experience would also be advantageous.
  • Interest in emerging technologies in the energy sector is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Willingness to travel across the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) at times necessary for the role.
  • Full driving licence.
