Development Manager, Microsoft Stack, .NET, C#, Azure, Mainly Remote

Development Manager required to work for a fast growing business based in Central London. However, this will be practically remote - there will be some travel to the Central London offices, and as it is a global role, there will be some global travel from time to time. However, ALL travel and accommodation expenses will be paid. Please read in full before applying…

Also, before we go any further…as this has global coverage, there may be some early / late calls. You must be prepared for this. There will be give and take with times, along with some flexibility if things are becoming quite taxing. However, we want someone dedicated and definitely not someone who wants a hardened 9am - 5pm kind of position! Also, if you are close to being immediately available as possible, this would definitely be a bonus.

We need you to have the following experience, which is imperative:

  • Exposure to / experience of / knowledge of Professional Services organisations
  • Experience of working in a Global environment
  • Solid Vendor Management skills / managing 3rd parties

The role is circa 60% hands on and 40% strategic. You will be leading a team (including 3rd party vendors) or circa 25-30 people and this will be circa 150 - 120 if you include the 3rd party volume! (not directly into you of course). Read on for more details…

Experience required:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a development manager position where multiple development teams were parallel developing projects / services in an international environment.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments. It is essential you have a Microsoft Tech Stack background - .NET, C#, Azure etc.
  • Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account prioritisation activities.
  • Strong writing skills for stakeholders from technical up to executive levels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the background of managing teams of a similar size and scale.
  • Knowledge of all components and facets of a secure software development lifecycle within an Enterprise.
  • Knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
  • Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and cloud native applications.
  • Ability to work with developers in an in-and-out outsourced environment.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Analysis, communication, presentation ability.
  • Scheduling skills.
  • Vendor and Supplier management skills, ensuring visibility to industry product and service roadmaps.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
