Salary: £36,745 - £56,958 per annum (Full-Time, Permanent)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Food Technology Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in Tower Hamlets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching food preparation, nutrition, and culinary skills, and will be dedicated to inspiring students to develop a love for cooking and healthy living. You will have the opportunity to teach Key Stage 3 and 4 students, preparing them for both GCSE and real-world applications of food technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons that cater to different learning styles.
- Teach essential culinary skills, food safety, and nutrition principles in line with the national curriculum.
- Foster creativity and practical skills in the kitchen while encouraging students to understand the importance of healthy eating.
- Support students in preparing for their GCSE exams by developing their practical and theoretical knowledge.
- Manage and maintain the food technology kitchen, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
- Collaborate with the wider Design and Technology (DT) department and participate in extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs and food-related events.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications.
- A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and food safety regulations.
- Experience in teaching Food Technology at secondary school level, preferably with GCSE experience.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
- A commitment to promoting healthy eating and food sustainability.
