Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health & Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our workplace safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety within the organisation. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
The position is working within a manufacturing environment so the successful candidate must have familiarity with engineering, welding & manufacturing on a large shop floor scale.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead investigations into accidents or incidents, performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide training and support to employees on health and safety practices, including first aid training.
- Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance, compliance issues, and improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with management to promote a proactive approach to health and safety across all departments.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in legislation affecting workplace health and safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Certification in first aid is highly desirable.
- Exceptional analytical skills with experience in conducting root cause analysis.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels.
- Relevant qualifications in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent) are advantageous.
