Financial ControllerSalary: £55K- £65500A highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller is required to oversee and manage the financial operations across schools within this rapidly expanding multi-academy trust.  This is a key role in the finance team, reporting to the CFO, where you will ensure financial stability, compliance, and efficiency while working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support strategic decision-making.To be considered for this role, you will need to be from an Education, Public or Not for Profit sector background.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation and submission of financial reports, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Manage cash flow and treasury. 
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Develop and implement efficient financial systems and processes across the Trust.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the finance team.
  • Collaborate with school leaders to ensure sound financial management at all levels.
The ideal candidate:Essential:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive experience in financial management.
  • Proven track record as a Financial Controller or similar role within education, non-profit, or multi-site organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of Education related funding frameworks for academies.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with financial systems and advanced Excel proficiency.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of payroll and HR financial processes.
  • Experience developing and implementing financial strategies in a multi-academy trust or similar setting.
  • Outstanding communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders across the organisation.
