Ashley Kate Finance are thrilled to be supporting our client who operate in the charity sector as they search for a skilled Payroll Consultant to guide them through the process of selecting a payroll provider that aligns with their needs and goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll systems, a deep understanding of various payroll providers, and the ability to evaluate and recommend the best solutions for our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment & Analysis: Evaluate our current payroll processes, identify gaps, and determine requirements for a new payroll system.
  • Provider Research: Conduct thorough research on various payroll providers, including their features, pricing, and service offerings.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Develop and execute a structured process for evaluating potential payroll providers, including creating and issuing RFPs (Request for Proposals).
  • Recommendations: Provide detailed recommendations and a comparative analysis of potential payroll providers based on the company's needs and budget.
  • Implementation Support: Assist in the transition process, including liaising with selected vendors, overseeing the implementation, and ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation throughout the selection process, including cost-benefit analyses and implementation plans.
  • Stakeholder Management: Working closely with Heads of Department such as IT, Finance and HR when discussing project plans.

Qualifications: (essential)

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Consultant or similar role with a focus on provider selection and system implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, compliance requirements, and various payroll software and providers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and interpret complex information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP - Certified Payroll Professional) are a plus.
