Criteria

  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
  • Experience of working with a Paediatric case load is preferable

Responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Assessing and diagnosing a wide range of communication disorders
  • To report and discuss with the SaLT Lead the progress of the caseloads
  • Planning appropriate therapeutic intervention in collaboration with the therapies team and the wider education team
  • Delivering group and individual therapy as required

 Providing advice and therapy programmes to education staff, parents and other health professionals

  • Managing parental and/or school anxieties regarding intervention and prognosis
  • Evaluating treatment outcomes; Adapting SaLT provision according to pupils’ needs and progress
  • To use a range of AAC tools and PECS to enhance the ABA strategies and provide support to the staff team in the usage of the tools.
  • To maintain an up to date knowledge of new techniques and development within the field of AAC and Speech and Language development
